WPK Trained Excellent Scientist, True Patriot

There is a man who has grown up to be a winner of Kim Il Sung Prize, Labor Hero, People's Scientist, Doctor and Professor under the care of the Workers’ Party of Korea. He is Jong Jong Gun, far beyond the age of 70, but still dedicating himself to the development of the shipbuilding industry of the country.

The efforts and feats he made for the development of the shipbuilding industry of the country are very great, indeed.

Jong worked out the basic design of the first stern trawler in the DPRK. He also studied and designed the building and launching methods of cofferdam iron vessels for the West Sea Barrage, the new launching method by an iron ball and the building and launching of a large-scale marine structure. He studied and designed a floating dock-type plane shipway, wrote a book of national value, did scientific research to produce green building materials and so on.

The floating dock-type plane shipway, which he designed decades ago, is still operating at full capacity at the shipyard.

The floating dock-type plane shipway, which combines a floating dock of a ship type capable of repairing ship at any place on sea with a plane shipway, which is a working site where ships are repaired or built, enables it possible to repair and launch ships while lifting and pulling down several ships from and to the land and sea freely.

The floating dock-type plane shipway is a precious asset indispensable to the development of the shipbuilding industry of the country, to say nothing of the shipyard.

On the occasion of the Day of the Sun in 2020, Jong produced the total amount of rust-proof paint and metal paints necessary for repairing the floating dock by himself and sent them to the shipyard and dispatched skilled workers to help the painting technically.

Jong did it not because he was told to do so. His deeds were made out of the invariable loyalty and pure patriotic conscience of a veteran scholar who decided to be responsible for his creation before the Party.

All workers and technicians of the shipyard were moved by Jong and his family who guaranteed birth of the floating dock several years ago and are now responsible for its destiny before the Party and the country. They said.

“Everyone says they will devote themselves to the country, but we think it is not easy to do so. Jong is an excellent scientist and a true patriot trained by our Party.”

Jong is still making scientific inquiry for the country and people with new seed of research.
