All the People Plant Trees

March 14 is Tree-Planting Day in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. On March 14, Juche 41 (1952) when the Fatherland Liberation War was at its height, Kim Il Sung, eternal President of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, said that the entire nation should turn out in the effort to restore the forests which had been damaged in brutal bombings by the US imperialists. On the day the first flames of reforestation movement flared up in the country.

Since then the people have built modern sapling production bases in various parts of the country and planted many trees with a sense of patriotism through a mass movement, so as to cover the whole country with trees.
