The DPRK accedes to 1992 CLC Protocol

The DPR Korea acceded on 13 July 2021 to the Protocol of 1992 to Amend the International Convention on Civil Liability for Oil Pollution Damage, 1969 (1992 CLC Protocol) which will take effect on 13 July 2022. It was communicated to the member States of the IMO through document CLC.6/Circ.86.

The DPR Korea’s accession to 1992 CLC Protocol shows the consistent will of its Government to contribute to the global maritime safety and marine environmental protection by effectively implementing the IMO instruments as IMO’s member.

Today the DPR Korea ensures that its Maritime Administration takes appropriate actions to give full and complete effect to 1992 CLC Protocol.
