At the 105th session of the Maritime Safety Committee

MA officials participated at the 105th session of the Maritime Safety Committee which was held remotely by IMO from 20 April to 29 April 2022. The hot topics of the session included adoption of amendments to mandatory instruments, drafting of regulations for domestic ferry safety, development of a goal-based instrument for Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships and cost implication concerning the recognition of multiple GMDSS mobile satellite services. Development of further measures to enhance the safety of ships relating to the use of fuel oil also attracted the participants’ attention.

The Committee adopted at the session the amendments to some IMO mandatory instruments including the 1974 SOLAS Convention and its1988 Protocol and 1994 and 2000 HSC Codes.

The 106th session of the Committee is planned to be held in November 2022.
